THE RIVAL VIEWS
Cowboys co-captain Matt Scott: “As far as the forward pack goes we’ve been making good metres and rolling forward pretty well, and we’re getting into positions where we can play some attacking footy. We had a pretty strong (defensive) line (against the Gold Coast) and they only got through with a couple of tries from kicks, so it will take that sort of effort again this Monday. But we’re just not executing well enough at the moment.”
Newcastle winger James McManus: “Obviously they’ve been narrow losses (for the Cowboys), so they are probably not that far off. It’s a tough trip up there, particularly at this time of the year it will be nice and warm and they’ll be fired up for a big performance I’d imagine after three losses. We’ve just got to make sure that we keep up those things like good ball control and then you’ll put yourself in good stead for a win.”
